Around the World Tours

In mid-September 2010 Flair Air was approached by Travel Guild, a Toronto based tour operator who asked to help recover a World Tour program that was in trouble. With three weeks remaining before departure, the airline that had been contracted to operate the program declared bankruptcy and was unable to perform.

The Flair team started by reconfiguring one of its 737-400’s from 158 Y class seats to 76 executive class seats. This included sourcing and purchasing the seats and establishing a new, approved LOPA seating configuration.

Over the next 3 weeks International Permits, Over-Flight Permissions, and Ground Arrangements in 14 countries were finalized. Flair was able to maintain a dispatch reliability of 100% for this tour.

During this time, a program dispatch reliability of 99.6% was achieved. Flair developed, and operated, a private, scheduled passenger system with weekly service to 14 points across Canada between YVR and YYT.
